An add-on is a final opportunity to purchase extra chips at the end of a tournament’s rebuy period. It is almost always mathematically advantageous to take the add-on since it typically offers the best chip-per-dollar ratio of the entire event. Declining the add-on rarely makes mathematical sense for any player still in the tournament.
