A backdoor flush draw occurs when a player has only two cards of the same suit (one hole card and one from the board, or both hole cards) on the flop, needing two consecutive cards of the same suit to complete the flush. The probability of completing is approximately 4%, much lower than a regular flush draw. It is frequently used as additional equity in semi-bluffs.
