Bankroll management (BRM) is the set of practices a player adopts to control how they use their bankroll sustainably. General guidelines recommend having between 20 to 30 buy-ins for cash games and 50 to 100 buy-ins for tournaments. Good management includes knowing when to move up in stakes and when to move down. Lack of BRM is one of the main reasons technically competent players go broke.
