Boat is slang for a full house, one of the strongest hands in poker. It is formed by three of a kind plus a pair. In Hold’em, it can be made in several ways including a pair in hand with trips on board, or trips in hand with a pair on board. Full houses rarely lose but can be beaten by higher full houses or quads.
