A dominated hand is one with very low probability of winning because it consists of cards similar to the opponent’s but of lesser value. The classic example is AK dominating AQ: both hands have an Ace, but AK has a superior kicker. When an opponent calls with a dominated hand, they are in a severe underdog position, usually with only 25-30% equity.
