ITM rate (In The Money rate) is the frequency with which a player finishes in the prize zone of a tournament. In typical MTTs paying 15% of the field, an ITM rate of 20-25% is considered good; in 9-player SNGs paying top 3 (33% of field), an ITM rate of 35-40% indicates solid performance. However, ITM rate in isolation is a misleading metric: a player who consistently min-cashes without deep runs may have a high ITM rate with negative ROI. The correlation between ITM rate and ROI depends on play style: tight/conservative approaches may maximize ITM rate at the cost of less deep run equity.
