A squeeze play leverages multi-way pressure: by making a large 3bet after a raise and one or more callers, the squeezer forces the original raiser to act knowing that callers may still come back into the hand. This requires a larger sizing than a standard 3bet to be effective. It works well against passive callers who are unlikely to defend against dual pressure.
