Two pair is a hand composed of two distinct pairs of cards with the same rank, such as J-J-4-4-K. When two players have two pair, the one with the highest pair wins. If the top pairs are equal, the lower pair decides. If both pairs are equal, the fifth card (kicker) determines the winner. Two pair is one of the most common hands in Texas Hold’em and generally holds good value.
