The wheel is the lowest straight, formed by A-2-3-4-5 where the ace functions as a low card. In hi-lo games like Omaha 8 or Razz, the wheel is simultaneously the best possible low hand and also qualifies as a straight for the high hand. It is one of the strongest hands in split-pot games.
